You said that right. This was not even the team that just beat Chile 3-0!

had not for ALLISON, Bolivia might have scored more.

that altitude in la paz is very difficult to play in if you are not accustomed to it and this was a inexperienced lineup

Bolivia, with that victory over Brazil, edges Venezuela for the Inter-continental playoffs, which will be played in March 2026.

venezuela must be feeling sick right now. they were very good earlier in the qualifiers. i still cannot grasp how venezuela can be so competitive in the copa america and struggle to qual. peru and chile have declined significantly as well, especially chile

Yeah, they were actually 4th in qualification just before the Copa America. That was a serious decline.

That game was played at a venue, Estadio Municipal El Alto, that is roughly 600 ft higher than the La Paz stadium. Brazil barely stood a chance

i agree but brazil is a team still usually beats bolivia at home. it was a team of reserves though. Brazil has a lot of work to do before the tournament. i think we know our best players but its to get the positioning and formation correct. tbh im not too excited about this world cup for a host of reasons. If brazil don't go into the tournament with high expectations from supporters, like i do, they will reach very far, possibly a semi or final. it means the'll be playing under reduced pressure, something they have not experienced since they barely qualified for the 2002 world cup. we know how that turned out.

The team that beat Chile 3-0 was virtually a reserve team with no Neymar, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Savinho, Militao. And this team vs Bolivia was a reserve team to that one virtually a C Team.

Videos on youtube are suggesting Ancelotti will still be looking at an Oscar, Coutinho and Thiago Silva and it makes sense to me...you not only need youthful reserves but also experienced reserves to go in a WC.
