Sammy did not drop Jangoo. He was dropped under Coley. He now has to impress Sammy to get back into the team.

In reply to sgtdjones You do realize that it was the Leeward Hurricanes who took Jangoo in when TNT Red Force turned their backs on him. They said he was surplus to requirements as you had a lot of wicketkeeping talent. We played him as a batsman.

I feel that Jangoo is worth a place on the West Indies team,he has done quite well over tha last year or so to be picked.Jangoo hasn't been given a fair chance like many of the other failures.

I think Jangoo's issue was timing in that he had to compete with Joshua DaSilva in the wicketkeeper/batsman space.

I think that Jangoo just lost form at a bad time. He was not dropped by Coley. He played in the second Pakistan match that we won. He then had a very average FC season, unlike that in 2024, and did not impress in England and so was understandably not considered for Oz series when 27 only wanted his sexy white ball players on the team and ignored in any event the top 3 batsmen from the FC season. I think that Jangoo should play the Nepal series rather than India as he will just go to warm the bench anyway as Sammy will want his sexy white ball players to play. If he does well against Nepal, we may have an answer to the perpetual presence of Johnson Charles and Brandon King as T20I openers.

So when he came back to the Caribbean why was he not in the test series?

Because by his standard of 2024, he had a very poor FC season in 2025. He scored about 3 half centuries and no century. Of course that means that no one looked closely at the fighting innings he played in the Barbados match on that terrible pitch or the fact that at No 3, he was batting out of position as his breakout year was at No. 4 coming in after Goolie. I think that he needs some confidence boosting and that is why I would play him against Nepal and if he succeeds, he may make the tour to NZ as by then, some of Sammy's men would be definitely found out.
