Ian Bishop on air did remind us of Jonathan Foo....who went to waste jus after helping Mudland win the regional T20 tournament
Bish called for Sampson to be managed properly....I agree wid Bish here...glad to hear Sampson say Keemo Paul has been encouraging him

Not so fast guys ... there are still a few matches remaining in this CPL and he was shoehorned in the opening role.

Keemo Paul and Quentin are actually related. Before Quentin was making a name for himself, Keemo used to help him out with gears and so on.

Yeah I heard Bishop mentioning Foo.

But to me that comparison is a bit unfair.

When Foo came along lickit was in its infancy and there was no real regional and international setup established as yet. There were also very little international domestic lickit leagues as well. Unlike what we have today.

After the Stanford, and the regional competition which superseded it finished, there was very little cricket for these lickit specialists.

But presently, a guy like Sampson has a dozen or more domestic lickit leagues he could play in after CPL concludes.

I believe Bish meant proper mentoring to keep Sampson grounded and hungry to play to higher levels

Foo was a youth cricketer who came tru de system...demonstrated clean hitting....Pollard had started to make his name at IPL...many felt Foo had the potential to emulate Pollard

Foo got into trouble with de cricket dictatorship in Mudland...he didnt survive

Lol I had to laugh when I heard that the other night. Quentin was well known long before Ali even heard about him.

About 3-4 years ago Quentin destroyed Berbice bowling attack in a 50 overs Inter-county match. Scoring 70+ in 25 ball or so. A Berbice attack that included Shepy, Motie, Permaul and Smity. De man hit Motie and Permaul out of the attack. That's when people started to notice him.

Since then he racked up a number of first and second division tons for Police, played for Guyana in the super50... despite achieving all those things, Ali is de one who suddenly discovered him

He said he gave him advice to think big scores

You need to listen back to that interview.. de man clearly said that during his interview with Bishop and Jordan. The part about the advice to score big was about Hetmyer.

He was also going on about he thinks Motie should only be bowling in the middle overs.

But ah guess everybody hears what they wanna hear eh...

Anna Regina ground is under major construction right now. Only the stands need to be completed. Floodlights and a similar outfield to Providence stadium are already in place.

Heres a short drone footage from 8 months ago... lots more progress since then.

Similar works are also being done at Albion and McKenzie (Linden). The one at Uitvlugt is on hold I think.
