Our Julien ran through the pain.

Insiders and persons close to her knew she was suffering from a grade one hamstring injury. But she insisted on participation with the hope that the injury will get better. The problem was she just could not accelerate as she is accustomed to doing...but persevered for the love of country.

This lady is pure class and dignity. She never hinted at the injury except a cursory mention of it a few weeks ago.

With pain she clearly struggled in the final but accomplished the goal of winning Saint Lucia's first World Champ medal. She has now pulled out of the 200.

Congrats to her and all other Caribbean athletes.

I wish Juju a speedy recovery.

Congrats JuJu...get

Of course. You never heard of the Alfreds from Culpepper Island?

I don't know and I am not about to enter the realm of speculation.

Good run period. The injury puts it into even greater perspective. Great day at the office for Caribbean sprints.

Yep. She was determined to run after her false start in her first World...she just could not put the turbocharger on.

As our country's Tourism Ambassador she was so keen to bring a medal home.

Truly outstanding athlete.

I hope she didn't do any further damage by participating. She'd missed several Diamond League events in the summer, due to this same hammy problem, and it can't have been good for her preparation.

I wish her all the best, and look forward to seeing her come back to the circuit next season.
