I was able to watch a replay of the Nepal match (Thanks Tanty)
It is clear to me that Nepal has a brand
That is the following:
Batting: Run hard between the wickets. Maximize every run. Turn singles into two’s, two’s into three’s etc. Put the fielder under pressure.
Bowling: be outstanding in the field. Maximum effort and focus.
Seems to me that they acknowdge they don’t have big hitters, really fast bowlers, or even prodigious spinners.
But according to the commies, almost everyone in the XI can also bowl. That gives them options.
Seems to me they’ve decided to maximize the areas of the game over which they have control. And not try to be what they aren’t.
We could learn from that approach. Perhaps their “brand” is rooted in reality.
That said…..it’s o ly been 1 match, but that was my takeaway.
I believe 27 wants us to play positively and “trust our game”. Maybe we need some reality adjustment.
