tage is still too inexperienced

jos will serve well coming into the top 6 batters

@allan

Could not agree more, certainly in NZ, best player of seam in the region.

Mon, Oct 13, '25 at 5:52 PM

@allan

Imlach deserves more time to get international batting experience, the Wi big issue is the 2nd opening position, maybe they can ask DaSilva if he wants to try batting there

Mon, Oct 13, '25 at 6:02 PM

@allan

Why is DaSilva out of favour ?

Mon, Oct 13, '25 at 6:56 PM

I dont know

but he made runs in the regionals

Mon, Oct 13, '25 at 7:09 PM

@allan

So who opens? Jos as he is replacing an openner?

Mon, Oct 13, '25 at 7:10 PM

@dayne

Both opening positions. Not because but still for all. OLD TIME yaad saying.

@natty_forever

Well, the options are poor, so Campbell just secured a place in the team for at least a year

@allan

Imlach stays as he deserves a proper run.

Josh as a batsman to replace whom? Chanderpaul's has struggled, but Josh is no opener and asking him to open in seam friendly conditions and him being a big LBW candidate is not a good idea.

@voiceofreason

These are Josh DaSilva scores in his last 10 test innings 49, 5, 1, 2*, 4, 27, 14, 22, 5, 12 an avg of 16 overall avg in test cricket 24. LBW 5 times in the last 10 innings to ball angled in playing across the line, so why would he be brought into the team as a batsman, or to open the batting. He made over 500 runs in last years’ regional so too has Imlach who deserves a run. BTW when someone scores runs in the regionals does anyone take the time to have a look at who the bowlers were or what the pitches were like.

Josh has been given 33 Tests @ 24.76 average. Don't you understand that under this new dispensation , Regional performances is not the sole criteria. That is why your boy KB got 100 tests!

Allick has only played 15 Tests and was the best batsman on this tour

@Leggully

That is the job of the Scouts and the analysts ( not those on here)
