potential counts for nothing until it is realised. So far, Athas has not realised. He is so far behind his contemporaries like Brook that it is embarrassing. As for him being the best batsman in India, how could that be when he could not even reach 50 in any of four innings?? Let us be realistic. Athas had one good regional year and has done nothing significant either before or after that.

I have always felt that total catches for a keeper can be a misleading stat without more analysis regarding how many of the total number of catches were regulation. I think dropped dropped catches, one-handed diving catches, byes (especially to spinners), and stumpings are more telling.
