@dwinston

please just go. I think that the rest of the West Indies should be ashamed of holding back Jamaica, the great sports nation. Thank you for your contribution to the history of West Indies cricket but please JUST GO AND STOP REMINDING US OF HOW GREAT YOU ARE.

But before you do, please tell us when last you went to see a WI test match or when last you made a contribution to a local cricket club so that some youths may get a chance to play

@tc1

In all seriousness, I have no doubt that if the Jamaican government and people put their minds to it, they will develop a very good cricket team.

But really, if they are not part of the West Indies set up, this would matter as much to me as a Kenyan or Hong Kong team.

@PalsofMine

I am absolutely certain that the 1st talk of going it alone some 60 yrs ago wasn't Jamaican origin. Dem men were especially giddy when they whipped The Poms.

30 yrs after they saw it fit to boycott over mediocre Anderson Cummins....

@Brerzerk

Lenks, if it weren’t you I would call you a dirty, nasty, stinking liar but becos it is you I would simply say you mischaracterised what bajans said.

around that time Bim had a star studded team and touring test teams found it difficult to beat Bim not even with some of the stars not playing. It led bajans to say that Bim alone could beat many a test team and of course it was true

that is quite apart from saying we want to break away from the WI umbrella like you bannuhs are saying every quarter and at a time when a JA team without Lugg can’t even beat Anguilla

to the issue of boycotting becos of Cummins, bajans were quite right to so do. No explanation needed

so haul yuh rass

What does it really matter?

why must we get vex everytime some non decision makers decide to have an opinion?

Wed, Oct 22, '25 at 4:10 PM

It is quite bothersome every so often some JA comes out the wood work and writes the same crap.

if they want to go, just go.

stop de lotta long talk. Just go

punto final. Just go

I'm sure the majority of Jamaicans dnt think like the irrelevant non-entity few who have allowed their sporting prowess esp in athletics to go to their heads ....they can walk on water ....the rest of us are "smallies" including GT!! 😄

Every two months one of these guys who have spent most of their life in the diaspora start talking about "Go it alone" but who is listening? Is this the view of the majority of Jamaicans in Jamaica? I have an avid cricket who lives in Jamaica who calls me all the time and who still exhibits the same passion for WI cricket as like 20 years ago. Yes he is 60+ , but my question remains what are the views of the younger Jamaican generation? If there is anybody who can effect change it must be them? He also mentions that unlike when he grew up he no longer sees youngsters playing cricket in his area, although football is everywhere. Hopefully CPL may reinvigorate some interest.

Again are these secession calls the minority or the majority?

Jamaica first needs to hold their own as they are not producing quality players as evidenced by Oshame, Odean, or even the highly touted and beloved Brandon King.

@Brerzerk

We did not “go it alone” and never used the Logan.We played the rest of the world as a one off game.In fact the great man Sir Frank asked Bim not to proceed with the game.

My knowledge of Andy Cummins is limited as I took a break from following or playing cricket during that period.
