Man I stop trying to figure this group out. Just recycle over and expect different results. Another reason WI cricket continues to flaw away. No one let the young players develop while everyone else does.
That young batsman the Aussies had in their test team getting out all the time last series. More than likely when we see him again he will be a dominant batsman. Rachin Ravindra, Rachin Ravindra etc. young players that have started to produce on the international level yet we play bat and ball games while countries develop cricket players.
@anthonyp
I believe Braffit can develop into a very good ODI player if he now focusses only on white ball cricket.
@seaegg99

Define youngster....I see these days 'youngsters' are being applied to players in their late 20s...Braffit is 33
@seaegg99
But we don't have young players who have step up .
You and I knew of past players who dominated 1st division cricket and could not get a look in ithe Bim team.e.g your teacher A. Hunte .
@sudden
Hand off my boy Zach,Zach is cool player and will make 4 tons this tournament. lol.
@Narper
Zishan Motara, Shaqkere Parris, Shiam Brathwaite, Nimar Bolden, Reneico Smith etc. This is a group players who in Barbados who are younger than 25 who could be playing for the national team. Blades, Springher, Mayers, Reifer and Greaves had to play with other regional teams to get the experience before the were selected on the B'dos teams.
I think youngster abound in the WI just the development skills are sorely lacking to take them to the next level.
@Narper
KB is a very limited player and one of the reasons this is not shown up is because the regional fast bowlers seems reluctant to challenge hi early in his innings. This is something international teams do right away. He is and have always been a very limited cricketer. There is no way KB would have made the Bajan team back in the day because "Friends cricket" was for the sidelines and rum shops.

I have heard the above said about Shai Hop[e too....but yet he has upped his whiteball game to world class.
There was a brief period when Braffit was successfully increasing his SR....at that time he had attributed this to lots of practice and gym work....his upper boidy did look more muscular.
There are lots of so called limited players who are successful in international cricket
I would give him a full season to prove himself as the 'young youngsters' are not cutting it at all....they are in fact clueless at the crease
@Narper

He been around for nearly 2 decades.
What different exactly you expecting to see?
SMH
@Narper
How can you compare the two? Hope is not limited in playing shots.
@seaegg99
I meant it was claimed Hope is limited to short pitch bowling.
Its only in the last 2 yrs has Hope uppped his shot making...especially in T20s
Why cant Braffit learn too....for whiteball cricket?
His mindset for test was to always bat long...and aim for a ton....he then got lost
@Narper
Bro, this probably the first rime in my CC.com history that I am reading your post with disdain.
How can you really defend Braffit!
Forget limited, Braffit was never a quality white ball player.
Even when he played for Windies, sensible people were surprised that he was given the chance.
The stupid excuse is that Windies were not batting the entire 50 overs, so they wanted an anchor.
There is a lot of antiquated thinking among the powers that be.
We are seeing the fulfillment of such stupidity.
One more stupid sentiment is that quantity is not quality.
meaning limit the competition to 6 teams.
We will se the effect soon.
I heard a quote last week.
Paraphrase: You can't keep doing stupid things and not expect consequences.
I went off topic.
Narper stop defending Braffit, as it makes you sound clueless.
I have more respect for you that these comments you make on this tread.
Windies keep looking to men, whose sell by date gone, for advice.
Barbados had discarded Brathwaite from their List A team because of his slow scoring which constantly put the team under pressure. Last year without Brathwaite, the youngsters with Reifer as captain made the finals.
Now I AM SURPRISED to see Brathwaite back...he MUST have learned to up his run rate.
