Barbadian Joshua Dorne is set to lead the West Indies to the 2026 ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup taking place in Namibia and Zimbabwe from 15 January to 6 February 2026. Dorne is joined by Antiguan Jewel Andrew as the other returnee from the 2024 team. 

While Andrew, who made his senior debut last October, has been away from the youth team lately, Dorne led the side to recent 5-2 and 4-3 series wins over England and Sri Lanka, respectively.

How is Dorne U-19 when he is clearly over 19. Van Lange will aslso turn 19 this month and the competition starts in January.

What is actually the cut off date for age calculation for this tournament?

I’m not sure of the exact rules or regulations, but you can definitely be over the age of 19. In Previous world cups many players have been for instance, 19 years and even four or five months. It doesn’t make sense to me but those I suppose all the rules. It would be interesting though to know what the actual cut-off point is

31 August was the cut off date so they are both eligible Joshua and Jewel.
