R4D have to home and away. They are not playing enough cricket. Spinners cannot dominate the overs as they do now. We allow this and they still are not developing into world class bowlers.
Fast bowlers have to be better conditioned. Not sure when was the last time fast bowlers were allowed bowl 20 overs in R4D. They are not fit for the rigors of test cricket. World class batsmen will wear them down then beat them because they fall apart. Is there a fast bowler who can keep constant pressure from one end for ten overs?
We are missing a couple of strike bowlers but have to get more developed as our spinners are not international class bowlers and this have been going on for way too many years.
Local boards have to look to recruit taller fast bowlers and build their bodies for the rigors of the sport. How Layne is still so skinny after years at the Academy is a joke. I saw Shields play against Barbados a couple of years ago and clearly see he had something to work with even then. Seems like we don't have the eye anymore for talent because players like Greaves and Shields take so long to see their skills. Not flashy but very present.
Fast bowling is a mentality driven trade. Line and length works for medium fast but you have to make a batsman uncomfortable. Regional we never attack them but when they get to the next level they are seriously unprepared. You then get a bunch of up and down bowlers running them about and they claim to be top order batsmen.
Our batsmen scare no one and that is because they are not attacked regionally.
Fire Sammy and Reifer before they even reach back in the Caribbean.
