The International Cricket Council (ICC) has charged United States of America (USA) player Aaron Jones with five breaches of the anti-corruption codes of Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the ICC.

The 31-year-old has been provisionally suspended from all cricket with immediate effect and has 14 days from 28 January 2026 to respond to the charges.

But if you remember the Hansie Cronje matter, that is how it usually starts.

The bookies get these guys to fix and compromise meaningless matches, or in this case, meaningless matches in a meaningless t'ment, with a simple bribe just to get their feet wet and suss out if they are good mark or not.

Once they establish the relationship they graduate them on to bigger matches in bigger t'ments and also get them to recruit other players. It wouldn't surprise me if Jones was introduced to the bookies by another player.
