"We'll come back stronger."

Suryakuma Yadav had a clear roadmap in mind when he uttered his confident statement. I don't disagree with him. With matches against Zimbabwe and West Indies ahead of him, his team's ability to cross these hurdles couldn't come easier than this.

India has already eviscerated Zimbabwe. Let me hasten to add that West Indies did the same.

West Indies does not offer any serious opposition to India. We lack the bowling capabilities to stop any frontline T20 international team.

No cricket pundit will bet on West Indies winning a world cup qualifying match against India at this stage of the competition. It does not matter if we score 240 runs, we lack the bowling skills to restrict India's batsmen who know that they cannot exit the competition in front of their home crowd.

Gawn India!!!

You have the benefit of a weak West Indies bowling attack: the dimesions of a small ground; a more battle hardened team; the hunger to succeed and a Jasprit Bumrah who will bowl his 4 overs cheaply. That's the match right there...

West Indes can only dream of winning.

This is Discourtesy and I am being brutally honest.

Overall, they have played well enough to beat India. SA seems to be their krypton right now. Despite the top order collapse, they did manage 176 though.

people did say WI didn't have a chance after losing to afghanistan in 2016 as well. lendl simmons and andre russell had other ideas. you just need one or two people to perform to rattle the hosts. we saw it with lara in 2003, SA were traumatized after his assault, which was followed by further poundings from powell and sarwan. SA were down and out in that game before klusener made the game look a lot closer than it is. we again saw it in 2016

@ray

Our achilles heel will be the mediocrity of our bowlers. This is a problem that has plagued us for umpteen years.

With regard to "playing well enough" this is only useful if you play consistently well against good teams.

The fact that we are ranked No.7 internationally speaks volumes.

And yes I know it is difficult to convince a fanatic of reality.

Let us tune our minds to the practicality of the situation and hope for a miracle.

The eternal optimists will say that the points you raise are exactly what the hungry underdogs need for that "miracle" to happen. We wait with bated breath!

@Brerzerk

Your post serves to undergird my point above that underdogs are expected to lose.

My friend this is licket cricket on any given day any team can win.

@CricSham

Please state here the probability of a West Indies win on Sunday. I'll be interested in your odds.
