Please state here the probability of a West Indies win on Sunday. I'll be interested in your odds..
50 percent.

WI has Xceeded my Xpectation. I don't C them beating India. If they do, I will donate a complete cricket kit for a youngester in the WI.
@CricSham
Bruh, what you have submitted here is the chance (possibility) of a win and.not the probability. There is a lapidary difference.

The fact that we are ranked No.7 internationally speaks volumes.
Rankings are a bit misleading as they do not take into consideration current form. Eg. South Africa is clearly top 2 but they are ranked just ahead of us at 6. Rankings may carry more weight in Tests or ODIS but T20IS are played more frequently so I would not use that as a sole barometer to judge a team.
You fail to calculate in your assessment the intangible," Weight of expectation". Eden Gardens has a capacity of 68k (another 1.4 billion in India alone) watching and expecting nothing less but a win from a young Team India without their legends Kohli and Rohit.
Now what s the probability of West Indies winning? I would say a 25% chance. India re the overwhelming favorites and with that tag comes the weight of expectation mentioned earlier. How can West Indies win? Well they have to bat well. Meaning we have to get a score of 60- 70 for 1 no more than 2 wickets in PP. Based on our batting depth and muscle that would set us up for a total around 200 + or even 180. If we have to chase, same goes. Our batting is our strength but we cannot be complacent.
Now in terms of our bowling yes we have a dilemma as we are finding it hard to restrict tougher opposition or even get them out. The key would be what kind of pressure we can put on them in the PP. I would start with Hosein and yes surprise surprise Shamar Joseph. Shake up the Indians a bit and see if w could get 3 -4 wickets in the PP. Chase has to play so unfortunately Forde sits. Hosein for Forde would be my only change.

How do you include 'weight of expectation" in a probability calculation? I am particularly interested in this methodology.
And why do you view "weight of expectation" in a professional environment as strictly a negative?
Folks, do you know Brandon King has a dot ball percentage of 48.5 percent and this is the second worst stat in this tournamen?.
This is plenty of opporunity to give up.

Based on precedence so far this WC the weight of expectation led to an early exit for Sri Lanka, losing three straight games at home to Zimbabwe, England, and New Zealand. India almost lost to USA and were beaten soundly by South Africa , when one would have expected them to compete better.
Now in professional environments, the weight of expectation effect is subjective as not everyone can carry that burden like Kohli or Rohit or a Lara, Jordan, Kobe etc. The greater the significance of the game, the greater the burden. For India this game is as big as it gets. Loser makes an exit simple. Which batsman in this Indian team are of the ilk of a Kohli? Ishan and Sky have done well but Abishek whom many saw as the danger man has struggled. So in summation based on their inconsistent form this WC, precedence of the other home team and the significance of the game I would say that if they were 99% favourites to start, then deduct 20%.

Yes saw this appalling stat. Not surprised. The question is should we stay with him for this do or die game? I say drop him and bring in Johnson Charles who can do no worse. He may well get off and score 30-40 off 12-15. For sure he will not muck around.
