Worst game ever. Last 15 mins of an important game and 1st 7 long passes from right back gives the opposition the ball. The field nuh have nuh miggle? Oliver Shield team coulda do better.
@Brerzerk
Long balls are not that bad with little time remaining but it must have a target,one good long ball get to your man instead of 10 or 15 passes,no time fi dat.Yard man got speed if ball drop at his feet.
Tough on Yard but DR Congo had the better of the exchanges today to me.
With all that talent available, Jamaica should be doing better.
The best I’ve seen Jamaica in years was when Tappa was the coach.
Still……Jamaica did a lot better than my T&T but that eh saying much. Both have a lot of work to do in their respective programs.
@imusic
It is a painful result,I won't forget that defeat in TT when USA beat us 1 bloody NIL in 1990
JAMAICA 0 - DRC 1
GK : BLAKE (8.0) - showed he is an excellent shot stopper, however, he remains poor with his feet.
RB : LATTIBEAUDIERE (7.5) - did very well as he had a lot to do defending against the outstanding DRC wingers.
CB : KING (7.0) - showed decent positional awareness, however, his long passes played into DRC's hands.
CB: PINNOCK (7.5) - was going to be my player of the game, then the long kicks started.
LB : WEBSTER (7.0) - was fairly solid in defense as the DRC wingers were livewires. He also showed some flair going forward.
CDM: HAYDEN (6.5) - his defensive positioning was vital as DRC attacked with purpose and, on occasions they had to resort to the wings.
AM : PALMER (6.5) - absolutely not my favorite player and he confirmed it in the first half when of the 7 passes he made, 5 went backwards. He did better in the second half, however, he is no Ravel Morrison, and the game was calling for a Morrison type.
M : REID (5.5) - was not really a factor and did nothing of note.
LW : BAILEY (5.5) - i am trying to remember two decent plays he made. I hope those who worship him will now agree he is useless as a national player.
F : CARDAMATERI (5.5) - he was an astronaut out there (ie) just taking up space, and with no creative midfielder to serve him, he cannot really be faulted.
RW: CAMPBELL (6.0) - workmanlike and figured in a few attacking forays.
SUBSTITUTES
CEPHAS (7.0) - was busy and created anxious moments with each touch.
HALL : (6.0) - showed poise and made a few creative passes.
BELL : (5.5) - not sure why he came on the pitch when we needed attack not defense. He promptly confirmed that he didn't belong.
FRAY : (6.0) - neither here nor there.
COACH - WASTE OF TIME.
TEAM - look clumsy with the ball and it was an eyesore watching them bring the ball up the field. New Caledonia was artful moving the ball so too DRC, but Jamaica, we are just not ready. Blake and Speid, take a seat right beside Ravel Morrison and watch the World Cup. Ego and vindictiveness has its rewards.
SPONSOR (adidas) - how comes you don't inject other colors into the Japanese, German, Mexican, Argentinian or Spanish teams?
@Chrissy
The draw against Curaçao at home meant Jamaica was always gonna be behind the eighth ball leading to qualification.
@JoeGrine
Cephas is a handful and has been consistently so for the entire qualification.
I was surprised he didn’t start.
You keep mentioning Ravell Morrison. Never seen him but curious based on your statements.
Either successive coaches have something against him, or he just doesn’t merit a place in the team.
Hopefully he’s not one of those players that are rated simply because they didn’t get pick.
I respect your football knowledge so I’m thinking it’s unlikely that he simply isn’t good enough.
