FIFA suspended Balogun red card. He can play for the US against Belgium. That should have been a yellow
World Cup 2026
@ray
They overturned his red, so let's see if they will overturn Olise's yellow which was a frigging farce!
Or was that a hometown decision for the USA?
@Chrissy
I remember Chilavert. Good keeper.
Can't say much more than that, I'm afraid. Except for Olise being born and raised in the UK, aren't all these guys born in France? Why does everyone keep using their family origins in a demeaning way? They're born in France, they are playing for France. The end.
@JahJah
yes they are born in France but he couldn’t say what he meant - black.
SOme of you on here has mentioned about the French team being an African one....Plenty European teams have Africans now
Imagine if these players played for the countries of origin😀
@ray
What country of origin you talking about? The bulk of these players were born i France and are products of the french system.
What does their parents country have to do with it?
In fact, many of these African teams are heavily dependent on french born players who cant make the team of their homeland so go back to their parents homeland in order to seciure a spot in the World Cup.
I would say the African Countries owe France a debt of gratitude for helping these players meet their potential!
Am Dominican. My wife is Grenadian. All our kids were born in the US.
They are Ameerican and identify with American culture. Not Dominican not Grenadian....their development was wholly influenced by the American culture.
@Ayenmol
COuntry of origin meaning that their parents may be from a country in Africa. I am not complaining about it. It happens all over the world of football.
Like you said, some end up playing for their parents country because they can't make the national team
@ray
@Ayenmol
But their parents country is not their country of origin....unless you think there is a dna stamp that gets transferred based on where your parents are from?
Country of origin literally mean where you came into existence....tha5 is France!
So why bring up country of origin as Africa when talking about the players?
They are not Africans.....they are Europeans, born in France.
French people!
...Plenty European teams have Africans now
