One of the people who gave West Indian people a sense of pride and achievement. I met him once in Vancouver around 1991 or 1992, and he was quite an accommodating and friendly person

I always thought of him as immortal. But thanks Sir Gary, for cementing West Indian legacy and pride in a way that will never die.
Had the priviledge of meeting and chatting with him briefly at an event many years ago. Took a pic together that the photographer promised to send. Still waiting on it!
