The T20 specialist rules out Tests and ODIs

Two-time T20 World Cup champion Dwayne Bravo has expressed his desire to guide the West Indies in the shortest format of the game. Bravo announced his international retirement for a second time in 2021 before walking away from professional cricket three years later.

Since his pioneering T20 career, Bravo has assembled an impressive coaching resume for the Knight Riders’ franchises around the world. The 42-year-old led his former team, Trinbago Knight Riders, to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title in his debut season in 2025.

“That's a hard question to ask somebody when they're a current coach,” Bravo began to tell The Super Over panel when asked whether he wants to coach the West Indies. 

The Trinbagonian then added simply, “But eventually one day, yeah, of course.”

I like the idea of Bravo being the t20 coach for the West Indies. Some would consider it early days, but I saw something special about his coaching. What stood out to me was his constant advice to players as he paced up and down on the sidelines. Winning the MLC with a team that never made it out of the group stage was a big achievement to me. He is certainly someone to look at for the future. However, what may end up being a problem for him is that he is only looking at one format. I can't see CWI allowing him to coach just t20 matches.

Bravo is a big bluff ....he knows fully well that that having 3 coaches is something CWI could ill afford an not practical ...the white ball coach is for ODI's an t20's an red ball test cricket....him saying he would only want to be t20 coach is a big impractical bluff....I'm not buying it!!😎

I don't have an issue with Bravo coaching
