Two seemingly contradictory things are currently true: cricket is in decline in the Caribbean, yet the West Indies have put together improving international teams that are competing at a respectable level.

Recent white-ball and red-ball results attest to this. They have just won the first Test of the Bangladesh tour by eight wickets in Dhaka. And this is after beating Sri Lanka 1-0 in their two-Test Caribbean series and drawing 1-1 against Pakistan in the Caribbean as well.

The article is on point for the most part although it fails to mention the fundamental issues that ail West Indies cricket and that will prohibit an extended period of success.
