This is not a perfect world and concerns for WI cricket extend beyond the current players income.
Were they paid for the test match? Was their performance in that match worthy of the Board
undertaking more financial losses? It is true that there is no rocket scientist on the Board,
but has anyone consider the power of the Indian board, and more over the strength of their dollars?
Must it always be about money with these unworthy bunch of cricketers?

Pure unadulterated fackery by the WICBandidos....

Good work Ryan in getting one the directors to squeal on the factors..
Farcical, comical management. The BCCIdiots are facted up but the WICBandidos are worse. Think about this the BCCIdiots keeping all the profits from this tour. Stadiums will be full of Indian fanatics. TV revenue flowing in and the WICBandidos are running a charity tour

Acknowledge its not a perfect world and that our cricketers are not world beaters, but this is how capitalism works. They are the product in their industry and dollars/pounds/rupees are being shared out. They are entitled to negotiate for their fair share. Surely you cannot begrudge them that right. Its simple supply and demand. They have skills. The skills are wanted. Others are selling product based on their skills. The players get to ask for some of the revenue.

Pretty simple economics that have been about for centuries.

I have been say that they must go for a long time now . As I continue to say PRESIDENTS COME , PRESIDENTS GO , BUT DESPITE REARRANGING THE CHAIRS ON THE DECK OF THE TITANIC THE SHIP IS STILL SINKING .

That is why I have said THE MORE THINGS CHANGE THE MORE THEY REMAIN THE SAME .

But how many persons berate the shortcomings of the Pirates ???
It is very apparent that most people on this MB and in the Region are satisfied with th job that the Pirates are doing .

If they were dissatisfied they would have called for the removal of the WICB a very long time ago .

You would no doubt have noticed that when I bring up the numerous faults and flaws of the WICB , I am always being criticized .

THEY DONT BOTHER ME , BECAUSE I KNOW THAT WHAT EVER IO WRITE ON THIS MB CANNOT BE DENIED BY ANYONE .

According to the a WICB director who briefed CaribbeanCricket.com on the condition that he remain anonymous, the board "desperately needed" the extra Test match in the Caribbean to keep its obligations to Digicel and to improve its financial consideration

So the players must suffer because of the board's obligations? obligations they entered into without speaking to those that will be involved?

So where were the PSEUDO SPORTS JOURNALISTS WHEN THIS HAPPENED ??? . NO DOUBT MAKING UP THE BED OF THEIR BEDFELLOWS THE PIRATES .

Let me again ask , why no word on that issue from the so called esteemed sports body in the Region ????.

It is their blind attitude regarding the faults and flaws of the WICB , why I believe Cricket in the Region is at the low level that it currently is , and as long as the Pirates are in control , with the Pseudo Sports Journalists who see no evil but do a lot of evil by their silence , Cricket in the Region will never improve .

The WICB were surely incompetent in wording the contract with Digicel in such a way as to ebable them to get sponsorship fot non-FTP matches, but I guess no one foresesaw then that this would be a future bone of contention. (WIPA didnt, obviously-does that make them incompetent too? -just asking.)
From the players viewpoint, the key is that they are getting match fees. Since there is no sponsorship benefit to be shared, the players really arent giving up anything by playing and they are getting a chance to earn match fees. Had the players struck , India would have gone elsewhere and they would have been out match fees. The WICB 's hands are tied-they cant change the contract wording at this late date.

Kind oif a tempest in a teacup, really.

One possible solution to the mess that now characterizes Windies cricket (players and administrators, in particular)is to implement a "pay for performance" system. No one should expect to get paid for not performing, at least at the basic standards of their discipline. For example, if a player continues to make the Same Stupid Shot Selection (SSSS) and gets out, not only should he miss the next test/ODI/FC match (as appropriate), he should surrender his match fee in its entirety. Similarly, if a WICB member continues to perform at substandard levels, for example, engaging in Nonsensical Negotiations, not only should he lose his pay, he should be summarily dismissed from the board. Currently, the punishment for subpar performances is worth the risk, so the tired mantra about Windies "turning the corner" soon has become decidedly meaningless.

"the board isn't getting any money from the BCCI. "This tour is a big loss for us. We're covering our own expenses, paying match fees to the players and not getting any money from the Indian board,"

India's board is greedy as rass and killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

Don't they realize that by squeezing the WICB they just adding one more nail in the coffin if Windies cricket?

And if cricket dies here it's less money all around for everyone left.

Who gonna watch Oz versus India 300 times a year?

Incompetent? More like corrupt to the bone. Guess your friends Braithwaite and Griffiths - did thwy gove you a cut as consultant - who welcomed that stinking deal laughing all the way to the bank.

"And, because the Digicel contract covers all home and away tours (even those outside the FTP), the WICB cannot search for an outside sponsor and must fulfill its obligations, which includes Digicel branding on the players' clothing."

All of us with sense warned the friggin hypocritical dunce Bakra Massas WICB ass lickers - Well done West Indian hero Ted! - that the above part of the Digi deal would bite WI cricket in the ass.

You can't blame the WICB for being so blatantly corrupt when WI fans are so blatantly stupid.

If de gyal fool enough to give way the pum pum for free, who gonna turn it down?
