The guys at PP are suggesting that there's no way that the tournament can continue if these allegations are proven true and that it should be cancelled or suspended. What do you guys think? You're the ones actually in the WI - the rest of us are not on the spot.

It is an interesting point, but I do not think that cancellation is necessary at this time. There is still uncertainty about whether (a) it was a random act; (b) Woolmer knew his alleged attacker; (c) it was an attack precipitated by the loss against Ireland; (d) it was a terrorist attack; (e) it was due to natural causes; etc etc etc.

So as Zimma said, the show MUST go on.

I think they are veering away from the "natural causes," otherwise why hold a press conference to talk about suspected murder?

I know it's dangerous to indulge in speculation..but
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports suggested that there had been signs of strangulation.

Agreed, but I am just putting it out there. Both could occur - someone choking him and dying of a heart attack.

In reply to Master_Blaster Munich Olympics in the 70s went on even though Israeli athletes were murdered..That's the only gloabl sports event which involved tragic murder , that I know of..
