However this being a cricket site check out Playing Away. I saw this when it was first aired and it has stuck in my memory to this day for many reasons.

JohnDoe 2016-05-17 10:57:13

There were some fabulous theatre personalities back in the 80s who used to play to packed houses at the Cultural Centre and Theatre Guild and drew huge audiences to various radio dramas.

Andre Sobryan, Ian Valz, Jasper Adams, Margaret Lawrence, Ron Robinson (already mentioned), Richard Naraine off the top of my head.

Andre Sobryan, Ian Valz, Jasper Adams, Margaret Lawrence, Ron Robinson (already mentioned), Richard Naraine

Andre was one of the few openly proud gay men in Guyana at the time. An amazing talent.

Valz penned House of Pressure and some other classic works. Great playwright.

Jasper had great comedic timing. A master during the Link Show.

Maggie was an over-actor but still had her moments.

Ron was mostly a director. He was the master at bringing the best out of this group.

Richard was a comedic genius. He is my uncle (father's younger brother) and I saw him rehearse all night up close. I view him as a legend.

Good memories of my childhood.

I thought I would mention those guys since I saw people listing actors who made it big overseas. We had some serious home grown talent.
