I talked to my Granddad this morning and I asked him to critique Devon Smith’s batting and why he finds it hard to transfer that form to the test stage, and he said, paraphrasing, Devon reminds him of Eastern McMorris. He would beat the hell out of the opposition during regional matches but tell him he is in for a test shot and he go shyte his pants out in the square, a brain freeze.

your granddad is a smart man, my recollection of Easton is the same as your granddad, but also get run out off a no-ball. but he did not 'beat the hell', he was slower than 'Paint'. He poked the hell out of the opposition.
