His last 12 Tests(21 innings) have yielded 509 runs at an average of 24.23. Four 50's in those 21 knocks, and on two occasions he scored consecutive ducks.

He scored 619 runs from his first 10 Tests at an average of 41.26. He registered 5 50's and his lone century during this period.

He has been a failure at every level of cricket in all forms. For all the talk of him being a stroke player and a shotgun, his record is even worse in the limited over formats of the game.

I want Blackwood to succeed because I like his bold stroke play. But he needs bigger scores. Hope he remains in the setup.

And BTW, I think he should have played in front of his home crowd today. It's muddled thinking to play two debutants in such a fragile batting lineup. At least Blackwood probably would have given a 40+ because he has put some 50+ on the books in the past.

The point is he is still performing better than the rest other than KB in his early years. I even would give him a break since OZ next great batsman according to them is averaging 32 in FC with limited Tons and quite a few 50s at 23 years of age. The next 2 batsmen.OZ selectors state are near the Team average in the 30s. The highest run getter there has a truckload of Tons about 40 with a 42 average but is 32 years and wont get a sniff
