Struggling Guyana lose Permaul and Hemraj to injury

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Struggling Guyana have been hit by more injury problems as they prepare to enter the seventh and final round of the Regional Four-Day cricket tournament.

Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul and batsman Chanderpaul Hemraj are both injured and have been forced to pull out of the team which remains winless after five matches.

Permaul and Hemraj have contracted chicken pox and have been replaced by dropped leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo and batsman Vishal Singh.

Guyana are at the bottom of the table on 21 points having lost four of their five matches so far while holding on for a draw against the Windward Islands.

They play front-runners Trinidad and Tobago at Providence from Friday.
