NAGICO Super 50

Barbados Pride vs Combined Campuses and Colleges

Yesterday's match between Barbados Pride and Combined Campuses and Colleges at the National Cricket Centre in Couva, Trinidady was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Guyana Jaguars vs Windward Island Volcanoes

A mesmerising spell of left-arm spin from Veerasammy Permaul undermined the Volcanoes batting and handed the Jaguars a handsome, 142-run victory when the NAGICO Super50 Tournament opened on Thursday in Trinidad. The pint-sized Permaul grabbed 4-12 from his allotted 10 overs, as the Volcanoes were bowled out for 85 in 33.4 overs in their Group A match under the lights at the Queen’s Park Oval in the Trinidad & Tobago capital.

Earlier, opener Rajindra Chandrika hit half-dozen boundaries in 52 from 65 balls to lead the Jaguars to a respectable 227 for six from their allocation of 50 overs, after they were put in to bat on a hard, grassy pitch.

Summarised scores:

GUYANA JAGUARS 227 for six off 50 overs (Rajendra Chandrika 52, Vishaul Singh 49, Anthony Bramble 43 not out, Chris Barnwell 34, Raymon Reifer 23 not out; Shane Shillingford 2-34)

WINDWARD ISLANDS VOLCANOES 85 off 33.4 overs (Sunil Ambris 26, Johnson Charles 21; Veerasammy Permaul 4-12, Devendra Bishoo 2-11, Chris Barnwell 2-13)
