Chris Gayle returns to Big Bash League after signing with Melbourne Renegades

A week after Sydney Thunder revealed it had rejected an approach from Chris Gayle’s agent, another Big Bash club has recruited the West Indies superstar.

Melbourne Renegades have signed the West Indies “master blaster” for next summer’s BBL season.

Former Test skipper Gayle is set to form an explosive opening combination with Renegades captain and Australia’s Twenty20 skipper Aaron Finch.

News Corp Australia reported last week that Gayle had been offered to a number of Big Bash teams but some, including the Thunder, weren’t keen to sign him despite his phenomenal record in Twenty20 cricket.
