West Indies Women Cricketers from across the region have teamed up with telecommunications giants Digicel, to send video messages of love and appreciation to their mothers today.
Prolific batter Hayley Matthews from Barbados, T&T’s Merissa Aguilleira and captain Stafanie Taylor from Jamaica, all agreed that their mothers played priceless roles in their lives and as such have listed them as the real champions. In a release yesterday the trio agreed also that their mothers are deserving of the ultimate recognition and their public shows of affection,  as the country celebrates Mother’s Day today. After watching the video from Stafanie Taylor, sister-in-law turn surrogate mom Tracy Grant-Taylor, could barely find words to express her feelings, only to echo loudly, “I feel loved.” Stephanie also expressed how she felt, saying “She’s my sister in law and she means the world to me. She did so much for me growing up that I consider her my surrogate mother. Tracy gave me the support I needed through hard times and celebrated my success with me throughout my career.
