Brian Lara Just days after WICB vice president Dave Cameron bluntly told Caricom to stay out of the board's business, there has been an about-face.

After meetings with Caricom, WICB president Julian Hunte issued a statement today saying the board is now willing to "accept" the recommendations of the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on Cricket, despite some reservations on one of the points.

HERE IS THE FULL WICB STATEMENT:
The West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) Board of Directors has expressed its appreciation to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Prime Ministerial Sub-Committee on Cricket (PMSC) for the continuing efforts to resolve the current impasse between WICB and the West Indies Players Association (WIPA) and looks forward to a more successful resolution process.

The President of the WICB, Dr Julian Hunte, advised that after having had discussions with CARICOM, the WICB’s Board of Directors has accepted the recommendations of CARICOM and has asked CARICOM to commence discussions with a view to resolving the impasse at the earliest opportunity.

According to the President of the WICB, the WICB is anxious to hold an initial meeting to discuss a roadmap which fulfills the meaning and intent of the CARICOM recommendations.

The President further explained that despite certain reservations on recommendation (b), WICB is committed to finding a common understanding and a satisfactory mechanism for resolving all of the issues in dispute.
