Chanderpaul ton, T&T U19s struggle
Opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s unbeaten hundred followed by a Trinidad and Tobago batting slump, put Guyana firmly in control of their third round game in the Regional Under-19 Championship here yesterday.

The experienced Chanderpaul stroked an attractive 132 as Guyana, resuming the day at Bourda on 228 for five, piled up 310 for nine declared.

However, Trinidad and Tobago’s batsmen then failed to put up a fight, as they crashed to 117 all out to concede a first innings lead of 193 runs.

Barbados vs Leewards
Georgetown, Guyana, July 31 - (www.bcacricket.org) - Talented all-rounder Shamar Springer scored an unbeaten century to lead a respectable Barbados reply against Leeward Islands on the second day of their third and last round match in the WICB Under-19 championship.

Springer was on 118 not out as Barbados, responding to the Leewards’ first innings 292, reached 254 for six at the close at Enmore.


Wounded Lugg leads Jamaica’s charge
 
GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – A courageous hundred from Leroy Lugg emphasised his class and led a strong Jamaica batting performance over Windward Islands in the Regional Under-19 Championship here Thursday.

Lugg defied a leg injury that visibly hampered his running between the wickets throughout his 5-½-hour stay at the crease and hit 109, as Jamaica reached 272 for six in their first innings at the close on the second day of their third round match for a lead of 20.
