Antigua

For West Indies fast bowling legend Andy Roberts, Valentine's Day will forever have special meaning.

The 53-year-old Antiguan on Saturday exchanged wedding rings with Lavern O'Brien in a moving ceremony held at the historic St George's Anglican Church at Fitches Creek. The ceremony was conducted by Archbishop Lindsay, Father Daley and Cannon A. Jacobs.

The new Mrs Roberts is well-known in Antigua as an accomplished entrepreneur. She served as an executive at Epicurean Supermarket and now co-owns (with Andy Roberts) a supermarket in the Crosbies Area. The Roberts also run a successful fishing business on the Caribbean island.

Guests at the wedding included WICB president Teddy Griffith, former chief selector Michael Findlay, Kenny Benjamin, Enoch Lewis, Clarvis Joseph and officials of the Antigua Cricket Association (ACA).

Senator Ken Isaacs was also in attendance.

The reception was held at the Multi Purpose Cultural Centre in St Johns.
