WC 2007 Opener: WI v Pakistan

The 2007 Cricket World Cup gets cracking on Tuesday, March 13th with the West Indies squaring off against Pakistan, according to an announcement by the tournament organisers.

The home side will be based in Jamaica for the opening round of the tournament, which runs from March 5 through April 28th. The reserve day for the finals in Barbados is April 29th.

March 5, 2007: West Indies v Kenya (warm up game in Trelawny, Jamaica)

March 9, 2007: West Indies v India (warm up game in Trelawny, Jamaica)

March 11, 2007: Opening ceremony; Montego Bay Trelawny, Jamaica.

March 13, 2007: West Indies v Pakistan (first round match opens tournament)

March 19, 2007: West Indies v Zimbabwe (first round match)

March 23, 2007: West Indies v Ireland (first round match)

April 24, 2007: First semi-final (Jamaica)

April 25, 2007: Second semi-final (St Lucia)

April 28, 2007: Final (Barbados).
