Kemar Roach thrilled on his way to a five-wicket haul, leaving the Bangladesh batsmen dazed and confused. His 12-over spell after the tea interval gave West Indies full command at the end of the second day, with the visitors left lurching at 104 for seven.

They are now 276 runs behind West Indies' 380 all out from earlier in the day. The three-man pace attack was what Denesh Ramdin used for all but two overs till stumps.

Some stats on the forgotten Roach here.

Cricinfo:

"Since Roach's debut (July 9th, 2009) until last night, his average of 25.74 is 5th best of all bowlers who have taken at least 50 wickets during this time. Who are the people above him? Philander, Steyn, Harris, and Mohammed Asif. Only one of those bowlers, Philander, can be considered as having many years ahead of him, and it's true, Philander is probably among the top prospects for a future #1. Most importantly, Roach is by far the youngest of that lot. He's only 26! (Philander is 2cool Even among the top 10 bowlers (by average, the gold-standard), only Boult and Pattinson are younger than Roach. So the point is, 4 years down the road, when Roach is 30, if he continues to improve and stay healthy (admittedly those are significant "ifs"), there is not reason he could not reach #1. "

Impressive indeed big grin

...but WI should be playing more Tests to ensure he gets a shot at #1.

btw, Shiv is 3 short of amassing a record number of fifties; which is 68 held by Sachin, and 5 short of 100 50+.

Only four batters have scored more 50+, Sachin (119), Kallis (103), Ponting (103) Dravid (99), Shiv (95)

I keep on telling folks that Kemar Roach is our best fast bowler since Walsh called it quits. They don't want to hear. Roach went Sri Lanka and got Man of Series. When last one of our bowler got that prize overseas? Man took about 16 wickets against Australia at home in 2012 in the 3 test series. Had a few bad tours in 2011 when his form was poor (same year when men saying Sammy kept him out, but he was rightfully benched those times). Since then, been roaring like a lion.

When Roach is bowling, you always feel he can take a wicket. I haven't got that feeling about a windies bowler for a long long time.
