RA$$!!!!!!!!!!
The patient flew on a plane from Liberia to Texas and was hospitalized. They did the tests and he was confirmed. That means that entire plane and its contents, the hospital etc are all potentially exposed.

Why de fork people still flying in and out there?
Same question I does ask for those who does go to them ISIS countries.
In reply to Andy99
The guy was asymptomatic leaving Liberia and landing in the US! He perhaps did not know he had the virus.

All it takes is one irresponsible person to start the spread.

Been watching this one, they were suppose to confirm it sometime today. The problem is that this guy traveled all over the place, who did he contaminate.

Dem fretting out hell to contain. U see how long the incubation period lasted? The man did not even know he was sick.

Like I does be saying: ban all commercial flights out of those countries, if ebola starts spreading, we done

That's the advantage of the new Ebola strain over the old strain which killed whole villages pronto, now they engineered this new strain, more effective.

Great news for Africa....

True, Patrick Sawyer did try to avoid contact with people, but that just confirms that he knew, or suspected, what he had. The trouble is, though, that he denied any contact with anyone and pretended that he didn't have ebola when admitted to the hospital in Nigeria.
This is a first-person report of one doctor who treated him; she, as it were, went to hell and back as she contracted it from him but miraculously recovered. It's a must read.
From what I recall (I read the report more than a week ago), at least three of his care-givers died, including the author's boss (a Ghanaian) and two nurses (one apparently contracted it on her first day on the job).

Second person in Dallas being monitored for Ebola, the Health Director says-- not to mention the four or five children with whom he had contact.

Who is "they"?
In reply to JayMor
Hooooollllyyyeee crap on a cracker. They had him, he told them on first appearance that he was from Liberia and then they released him.

Now that is really scary. U know how many people he potentially infected?
In reply to dale_staple
Ain't dat suppen!! How hard is it to say he is high risk, eeh? The admitting receptionist or nurse prolly didn't even recognise Liberia, regardless of all the news. Airheads abound!

Effing simple solution, but people love play too diplomatic, bunch of wussies!
In reply to JayMor
I read on Twitter that these children were still going to school for at least two days after they found out about the infected person.
Also, the taxi that transported him was still in use well after they misdiagnosed his condition.

Survivors of Ebola in West Africa are being ostracized by their neighbors and friends, no one trust to be around them, they survived Ebola, but life now stinks for them, starvation and death awaits.
I fear the school kids of this US Ebola outbreak are going to suffer the same faith, kids are not going to socialize or play with these kids for a very long time, life in school and the neighborhood will be sheer hell for them. Solution is the parents should move out of the neighborhood and the school district.

Fear of the unknown.
yes, start out a new life elsewhere might be a good option
