Younis Khan

A fine example on how to challenge the system. After being demoted to the second tier of his country's contract scheme, he was dropped from the ODI team. Look at his response, performance. Now everybody is shouting praises for Younis, he has earned that. Performance is power, the Pakistani Board and selectors have no choice now but to pick him for the World Cup squad; Younis Knan's bat has spoken, and he walks into the World Cup.

And the Pakistanis, for a team that does not even have a country to play, have responded so well to the mighty Australians; they are driven by the pride in playing for their country. That pride brings greater success, generates more interests among fans, and enhances the bargaining power of the players and their union against any injustices by their Board.

Some of us have been singing his praises since 2000. Gwan Younis!

In reply to Besar He simply stayed focus and practiced his batty off to prove that he still belongs - done!

With an average 0f 53, he had very little to prove to anyone, yet as you rightfully stated, he went out there and let his bat spoke loud and clear; no dispute, he belongs.

Compare that with some of those 25-40 averages in other parts of the world; in some cases cricket would have come to a standstill, with Prime Ministers having to come in to get them back into the team. While Younis and Ul Haq are playing cricket and speaking with their bats, lesser men (speaking in terms of cricket statistics) are looking to take plane to run to seek help from a Prime Minister. I say, play the game, play hard, compete, gain our respect and we will all stand for you. If you are doing the hard work on the field we are going to fight for you, and where players are performing, and the people support them, no Board can stand in their way.

By the way, I've been around long, long, long, too, I did not just get to know Younis Knan now; just killing two birds with one stone.
