Barbados Pride just cannot seem to escape the rain.

Last weekend, they watched helplessly as the adverse weather ruined their first round game in the WICB Professional Cricket League against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, wrecking their chances of grabbing an outright win in Port of Spain.

And if Barbados thought a return to familiar conditions would bring a change of fortune, their hopes were quickly dashed yesterday as a trough system moved across the island dumping heavy rains.

Jaguars take on Volcanoes -With eye on weather


WITH one eye on the weather, points leaders Guyana Jaguars take on Windwards Volcanoes in the second round of their West Indies Cricket Board/Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day contest, which bowls off at the Guyana National Stadium from 09:30hrs today.The Guyanese have 17 points, following their innings and 10 runs victory over the Leeward Islands inside three days, when the two sides met in the first round at the same venue last week, but what will be of concern to their coach Esuan Crandon and his team of assistants is the catching.

Could these issues have anything to do with scheduling our premier tournament in the rainy season?

Why not schedule it during IPL when there are no international calls,good weather and an opportunity for our youngsters to replace the T20 professionals working overseas.?

Seems like a good idea to me. The same players who are playing in the Ran Slam, will be away for the IPL as well.
