A disgraceful pitch!

That surface was totally inappropriate for a one-day Final.

T&T fans may be happy but csn cricket fans be happy with 265 runs scored off the 100 overs that were available? Thats not what packs the fans in. More importantly that surface is nothing like our players will experience outside the Caribbean. Most 5th day Test wickets play better than this one did today.

He had a bit of luck. Could have been out 3 times. It was a brilliant inning from him. Griffith got a flukey 31 and no one else reached 25.

The QPO pitch was terrible for the entire competition. Shameful, really.

Everyone batted and fielded on the same pitch.
QPO HAS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR YEARS.

Everyone played on it win or lose.

QOP pitch cannot host a series of games, it degenerates into ridiculous. Remember CPL 2013 and last year's WICB One Day tournament.

In pitches like this Batsmen cannot confidently play their strokes... If you cant practice your game at regional level where else would you do?

There is dire need for Flat wickets for Regional cricket. When Scores around the world are touching 300-350 generally only in WI we are having scores of 100 and 150 consistently

I find the argument about the pitch very childish, there were no posts about the pitch when TT batted,so why all the talk about it when Guyana got bundled out for 65.Didn't Jamaica come within a few runs of beating TT at the QPO,it's all because they batted sensibly, and they made quite a bit more than 65.As usual it's all "sour grapes",get over it.

Agreed. But stupid West Indian fans only hold players to a higher and professional standard. And what about the piss poor umpiring?

In reply to Kurt This entire tournament needs to be revamped. I appreciate the need to appease the sponsors, but QPO is historically one of the least batsmen friendly pitches in the region. The tournament is also too short if we are serious about improving our one day cricket. Maybe semi-finals and final can be played at QPO or some other country ground but the tournament would be enhanced if it was taken around the Caribbean in a league format. Perhaps it could precede the first day of the 4 day game since there should only be minor changes in personnel.

Man I expected Guyana to win the finals long ago, just look at the shit batting TT have been producing over the last few years, add to that we have been playing without first choice players over the last 5 or six years.Having said all that we still end in the first 2 or 3,you do know that Pollard has been carrying an injury, all the same the best cricketers have their off days nothing new there.I am not excited,I am surprised that we won,and I am pleased. My days for being excited about cricket in the West Indies are long gone,I now regard all Caribbean sports as second rate, apart from Jamaican athletes.

It has hosted more than a few international ODI's . It was never a free scoring track ,Sri Lanka managed 201 in 2013.

In the history of ODI's at the QPO a team has posted more than 300 only six times . The average score for ODI's at this Oval is on the mid 200 range 250-260.
