I really despise this era of cricket that we have to support. A real fiasco this generation is.

Despise is a strong word that should be reserved for serious issues.
They are post Lara the first generation of entrepreneurial cricketers.
You can't fault them for taking advantage of market forces.
You can blame the WICB for building its team around them.

I agree. Maybe I should not use it.
Question - aren't our issue serious?
You can blame the WICB for building its team around them.
I value winning more than making money. And these guys are not poor. But still not winning.

Burns added that both Sunil Narine and Kevon Cooper indicated that they were not ready for the four-day tournament just yet and would like to work on their respective bowling actions.

But both are on course to complete remedial work in time for the IPL to start.

Yuh torking some real sh1te with "market forces". None of the 5 will be making money elsewhere while this match is on. Pollard & Ramps were known to be injured by anyone who followed the recent 50 over tourney, and Narine made it clear he was working on his action. The only real surprise is Bravo who is retiring from all first class cricket & Cooper who finally is working on his action as well.

Commie's world revolves only around the money they earn...
Rich arrogant Players and poor, passionate administrators is the theme... None is a Lara / Viv / Haynes to earn money. WICB dosent care about anyone less than a Lara / Viv / Haynes.

Cooper isn't really out since he shouldn't make it in even with all those missing.
Gabriel, Richards and Emrit means he wasn't or shouldn't have gotten a place either way.
Polly wasn't fit to play the Super50 knockouts although he did.
Didn't know Ravi was injured.
And Bravo retiring from Tests means he'll likely be retiring from FC too.
Thats up for debate and both sides will have valid points.
On one side it can be said that Bravo should play and help elevate the standard and guide the younger players then on the other side it can be said that if he isn't playing for a Test place then he should step aside and give someone else the opportunity.

There were two separate commentaries I made.
One on Cooper and Narine and their actions and another on the general theme of guys being able to make money outside of the usual Test and ODI cricket.
The first I find funny, the second I have no issue with once they don't play the victim card.
The WICB are complicit in making those guys core to WI teams instead of developing other resources in parallel.

Kurt, the notion that Narine and Cooper can knowingly pelt in a regional tournament, then choose to skip the next one because they don't want to knowingly pelt is just absurd. C'mon man, you absolutely must know better.

I really don't care how much the guys earn until someone starts talking about how they are suffering and poor.
I live in the Caribbean and see what people have to go through.
Poor and suffering they are not.

Not a fan of FanAttick (no pun intended) but i agree
The Nagico Super 50 result was a farce..
What does this say about our regional competitions that a bowler, a la Kevon Cooper would feel confident to play NAGICO Super50 yet mere days after unsure about four day cricket? There is also the other question of playing purely TO MAKE MONEY.
Burns added that both Sunil Narine and Kevon Cooper indicated that they were not ready for the four-day tournament just yet and would like to work on their respective bowling actions

I wasn't addressing the issue of pelting. I was merely countering Commies allusion that these decisions were guided by money. Does the 50 over tournament pay much more than the 1st class one? Do the players have something else more lucrative to do instead?
I blame SL cricket for the ridiculous laws in place today. They hounded Hair and drove the change whereby umps no longer no-ball a pelter on the spot but instead report him after the damage is done.
It would not surprise me to learn that Cooper was reported in the 50 over tournament, hence his current omission.

The team just came from winning the Super50 so team spirit is high. Even though those guys won't be there for a while the rest of the team did well. Emrit, Katwaroo, Jason Mohammed, Daren Bravo still had a good tournament. Imran Khan didn't get much game in the super50 but he's leading strong for us in the wickets in the PCL so far..plus Narine, Pollard, Cooper and Ravi will come in after they finish heal from injuries and work out their bowling playing club cricket. Only Dwayne is not really available for the season, seeing as he just retired from Tests it's not that far of a stretch. The team's confidence is high..I see an upturn

Do you see the exit of Ramsaran a positive as well, given his appointment was not based on cricket reasons alone?

Actually, I think that Cooper, by the reason HE gave for his unavailability is the one making an admission, such as it is. I am merely reporting the news.
