They have received several applications and Ridley did not apply. Jacobs say that he did apply. Obvious that CEO Nicholas does not want him as Coach but would he go so far to lie about his failure to apply?

Coach of the Leeward Islands cricket team, Ridley Jacobs, has denied reports that he has not applied for the top job and has criticised CEO Derrick Nicholas for doing what he calls a “poor job” in the newly created LICA position.

Derrick, who as a guest on OBSERVER Radio’s Good Morning JoJo Sports Show on Thursday, announced that Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA) will be, in the near future, employing a new cadre of coaches.

“We’ll have a full time coach, assistant coach and a full technical staff. Ridley Jacobs was appointed by the board to be the coach, but we are going to, for the first time, engage on a full time basis, a coach (and) he (Jacobs) has not applied, so he won’t be that person,” he said.

“We haven’t even settled on the person but once we settle on the individual we will have to sit down and work out whether it is going to be a two-year term in the first instance or a three-year term,” Nicholas added.
