Before the original squad was selected...I had called for Gabriel too.

Gabriel can be consistently fast...he needs a good run...so far it has been start/stop for him...he has never played more than 2 consecutive tests

I puttin this down to local knowledge of the Grenada pitch cause Gabriel while not a bad fella doesnt give me much in the confidence department...

this one I will have to defer to the selectors..

we shall see.

I had Benn and Smith out for Gabriel and Bishoo, this was before the start of Windies second inning.
I have no problem with the squad.

For the first test squad the selectors got de least cussing in years

Benn's selection was queried...and that turned to be a valid query

The four bowlers and Samuels will not win you matches, Holder is not ready to be your fourth bowler, thats why I suggested dropping Smith and Benn for Bishoo and Gabriel.

Roacch got 6-48 and Sammy 5-55 last time WI played a test match in Grenada ( 2009) ...against Bang and we lost with the scab team

even so Narps..Roach was definitely ready then.

He seems to be operating at a little above 80% here...plus I was told that he was not fit... a few weeks back.

I have no prob with Gabriel and Bishoo coming in.

Samuels...Needs Dr Rudy Webster...dont know how he could continue to be this much of a lone wolf in a team sport for all these years.

It is obvious something is going on in his head which is detrimental to his batting and contribution to the team...but he has to want the help...he has to recognize there is a problem...too much fracture on that India tour debacle
