HEADLINE: Jamaica Gleaner Apologies to Michael Holding

Today's version of the Jamaica Gleaner is carrying an apology to cricket commentator Michael Holding with regard to comments made in an article written by Oral Tracey.
The article, published in the Gleaner and on the newspaper's website on January 20 2015, was entitled 'Victimisation, or consequence of action?' referred to and made certain statements about Mr. Michael Holding.
The Gleaner states "The Gleaner and Mr. Tracey apologize to Mr. Holding for having published the words in the article which referred to Mr. Holding and state unequivocally that there was no intention to suggest that Mr. Holding was either dishonest, irrational, had no honest belief in his own opinions or had any improper motive."

The only mention I can find of Holding in the original article is
The dishonesty and shallowness of thought that characterise the brittle defence being put forward to support the players' actions, coming from the likes of Chris Gayle, a fellow player, Michael Holding, a former player and, surprisingly, so many voices across the region, would suggest to the uninformed that the players in question did absolutely nothing wrong, and that the WICB and its selectors have acted in a devious manner to exclude them from the World Cup squad.
So are they going to apologize to Crampy too?

This reinforces my perspective that Some in the Media are Stooges of the Worst International Cricket Board in the World ' aka the WICB .
I am not surprised ; this is precisely why I believe that the Media in the Region is a part of the Problem with Cricket in the Region .

Holding is well known for lashing out against players and wicb officials.
Even Ramnarine had his share

I beg to differ , Opinions can either be Right or Wrong . Hence an Apology
was needed in this case . Especially
in Stupidity .
BTW , offering an apology , is not a sign of weakness , it is simply an admittance that the person or persons
offering the apology were wrong .
