"[In the Australia-New Zealand series] We saw weaknesses where we can exploit. There's some new faces, mixed with some guys who have been in rich veins of form. It's important that we put some pressure on their middle order.
"If we get early wickets with the new ball, we can get guys like Shaun Marsh, guys who are trying to make their way back into this side, put them under some pressure to score. Once we can do that it should be a relatively competitive series. They have some in-form batsmen, David Warner and Steve Smith, so it's just important that we put some pressure on their middle order."

Aus might have weakness but will WI be able to exploit is a huuuuge question with the same team that lost to SL.
Still I like the attitude, and if he can back his statement with one draw this test series that would be a really good result for him and the WI team.

Any team has weaknesses. WI is a weak team full of weaknesses.
Aussie playuers are lining up to pad their stats
I see a weak batting line up. A mediocre bowling outfit.
ure we will have our one off performances but to say a player hitting a century each game or a batting display showing grit and will nah. Same for bowling. No depth in the bowling and not enough quality to trouble the Aussies.
We may compete for a day or two but not for 5 days.
2 day whitewashes coming up...

Good plan. Basically dismiss their batsmen and score more than them
Success starts with a positive outlook. Holder is correct about not adopting a defeatist attitude from the start because it will surely sink them...
In reply to sunfish... my thinking also.

The problem is that West Indies probably will not get to the middle order.

I suspect they were not into it 100% in SL because of the ill-advised decision of the WICB to suspend Simmons and installed the "yes man" as coach.
One should note that the "yes man" went against the coach and the captain's wishes in the selection process.
Watch for a different display down under. I predict this team is going to surprise a lot of people.
The standouts are going to be Kraigg, Chandrika and Blackwood.

I dont think Blackwood or Brathwaite are going to do well this series. I think it would be Bravo and Sammuels who would stand up. My surprise pick will be Hope. I saw that he changed his approach and came out really positive in the last innings. He seems to be a learner and the fast pitches in Aus might actually help him
Holder reminds me of a tall version of Powen
Mr Holder... you're response to questions about any opposition going forward should be something to this order.
Btw, it might be how the questions were asked, but all he spoke about in the interview was about WI bowling. Our bowling is OK... our batting needs to be the focus. How do we get to 250+ runs per inning consistently. (Yes 250).
The lack of these two things being reflex answers in an interview tells me that WI coach and management does not have the right message embedded in the player's mind.
In reply to Pacy
No argument where Hope is concerned.
I would like to see him batting a little further down the order. Maybe at #5.
I am sticking with Kraigg, Chandrika and Blackwood to come good.
Talk yuh talk my son, then mek d ball n bat talk some more.
Never be a sheep.
Holder please keep your mouth shut it will be better for you .
In the last TEN innings since the Third test vs England...WI have struggled to post a score past 250.....251 IS the rare scores here.
OUR BATTING IS NOT COMPETITIVE.
i am going to start a collection of all articles from every PRE-TOUR/MATCH press conference

In theory...lol..
Rain is our strongest "performer"
Only he can save a game for WI!
In reply to googley
De Ozzies will exploit the West Indies strength and still get de desired result....Holder is a likkle too talkative these days!
In reply to WestDem
At least Skipper Sammy knew how to exploit 12 player Rain!

Sammy master de art of clapping!!!
I tired of the talking. Holder should say this:
Other than thank I am tired of the old talk.
I see one of the weaknesses is on his way to 150
