Saffie Joe Root
Congratulations to Root for scoring his 6th International century away from home.
Three of his four ODI centuries have come against Sri Lanka(2) and the West Indies (1).
If Kohli retires immediately, he may catch him.
de kock is better than all of them

always wrong and strong.

Ummmmmm which number is wrong? He has TWO Test tons away from home in 18 matches, and 4 ODI tons away from home in 40 matches.
2 + 4 = 6
6 from 58 matches AWAY from home.
Kohli - 8 tons from 24 Tests away from home. 15 tons from 108 ODI's away from home
Root - 6/58 = 10.34%
Kohli - 23/132 = 17.42%

Honestly Devin, it is very apparent you are all in on this Away from home stat because it is the best light to portray Kohli.
But what good is it for someone to be an away bully and fail at home?
Roll em all up and a 44 average is not greatness.
In reply to Devin
I thought root could not score overseas
Is it easier to score 100s in England?
In reply to nick2020
The thread is directed to me and it's about Root's numbers away from home, so I am addressing that.
I'm going to go with the likes of Chappell, Gavaskar, Nicholas, Slater, Taylor, Akram, Sangakkara, Richards etc etc etc etc when it comes to Kohli and his batting.
In reply to doosra
For an English batsman, yes.
In reply to nick2020
BTW if a 50 average is the measure of greatness, then check me later this year, cuz I expect him to be averaging that much by the end of the year.
I think Kohli could potentially play 12 or 13 Test matches this year. Really looking forward to that 4-Test series vs West Indies in the Caribbean.
In reply to Devin
From your first assessment of root and his overseas performance is there a change. What do you think of Joe root
In reply to doosra
Kohli and Williamson
Then Root
Then Smith
All four are very good, Kohli is the most dangerous and talented of the lot.
I expect Smith to be exposed due to that questionable technique.
Good on you
Btw questionso on kohli in England are still to be addressed. We wait for another tour. Similar to the question you raise about smith overseas. ..especially upcoming nz and subc
In reply to doosra
Not just Kohli in England, Kohli vs England, period.
His record against them in both formats, home and away, stinks!
In reply to Devin
Williamson is the best in tests.
It's Kohli by a mile, then QDK in ODIs.
Phew.
In reply to Devin
A 50 puts you in the conversation.
Check you later this year as in he going to have a 50 average career or in the year?
Root avg is 46 away, 60 home, 54 career.
Kohli avg is 46 home, 43 away, 44 career.
For a man who is supposed to be so great away his average sure doesn't reflect it.
But to get to the point at hand if Kohli has a career average of 50 let me know. I will admit he is great. If he does not what will your position be?
100 out of 212. Takes his team to something to bowl at.
That Root in da ROOTS!
