just pick your best 11, and from that your captain.. (holder isn't in the best 11 right now)

Kraigg or Bravo

need to give it to someone with experience. Someone who captains his regional side.
To just give it to someone on the team is not progress.
I say bring in the Jamaican or Bajan captain and let them lead until the WICB find someone like they did in pre Lloyd era.
Kanhai lead the team until they appointed Lloyd.
Holder is looking more and more a burden.
he is actually taking up Joseph's spot on the team.

In reply to rillo... the thing is, take away the captaincy and watch the improvement.

Somehow, I think the "winningest" captain in regional should head Windies team

natty_forever 2016-10-21 10:35:05

In reply to XDFIX... only if he can make the squad. And we should not pick another player until they can get their average up to 40. So until then, this sorry lot stays.

XDFIX 2016-10-21 10:47:32

The "winningest" captain in regional should be in a Windies squad, or else that's thwarting the bigger picture.

In fact, I saw no reason for excluding Lambert from Windies squad and moreover the captaincy when he was the winningest regional captain

natty_forever 2016-10-21 10:50:36

In reply to XDFIX... then that would have been the "Sammy" scenario in force from then. Therefore, the regional captains should all have been assessed not only on being the 'winningest', but the best of the lot in terms of runs and/or wickets.

I am all for Bravo as captain...It will be wonderful for WICB.He cannot be any worse than what we have on show, eh?

If it is indeed a poisoned position or a blighted position. Then we can have a captain run d team from the stands.
We have enough breaks already.

We have seen in recent past, multiple captains and vice captains came and gone without any changes in performance and results. The failures are from a failed WICB and a broken system!

Today a required average in the low to mid 20's or a bowler with pace qualifies you in the team. This is what we see for the most part on the field and expect performances averaging 40 or more and bowlers taking five wickets on a regular basis. We are expecting more from these guys than they actually capable of doing.

Come on people "WAKE UP" by putting real pressure on your local Cricket Boards to voice their opinion on behalf of the people in demanding that the officials of the WICB step down or else they themselves would have to go. Talk is cheap and actions speaks louder than words. You can start with your local clubs to regional leagues to divisional levels. It has to start somewhere with someone. Why not start with yourself or else we are going to bitch among ourselves for a very long time to come.
