PEAS & "PLASTIC" RICE IN JAMAICA
In reply to Emir
True or not, the Chinese are getting what they deserve. The Chinese Government has failed to impose heavy penalties on companies driven by profits over human safety. These people will go to the ends of the earth to make a dollar, at great risk to humans. China better get its act together or risk great harm to its economic future.

You make a very valid point.
If THIS fake news has any "good" it is a sensitization to the fact that China has only one standard: low cost mass production. Not health, not safety, not durability. Just quantity to meet OUR materialistic demands.
See the irony?
This is interesting, as just this week I was talking to my Philippino workmate who said that Plastic rice is very common in the Philippines and the rice is made in China. He said people there buy it because it is cheap, but they have to eat it soon after it is cooked because if it is not, it becomes hard. I cannot imagine what it does to the interior of someones body.

No, If you cook plastic it will melt and smoke, so it cannot be passed as rice. Secondly, it is more expensive to mass produce plastic rice than to grow real rice.

But they execute them when caught..

USA no different, they are all driven by dollars.
same jamaica got to turn to gt for rice they dont want to buy?
In reply to granite
Rightfully so, but not at the expense of human safety. Companies get heavy penalties in the US for that. Ask Volkswagen.
In reply to black
Well, that is not all true, America is the biggest supplier of Genetically modified food that is banned in Europe and partly in Mexico, because those countries are not sure about the effects on humans. The Genetically modified plants repels insects, that alone should tell humans something.
