Windwards Always Last...

sunfish 2017-01-07 20:26:41

..To name a squad in every tournament. The management don't understand the meaning of efficiency and they are not doing anything to help West Indies cricket move forward. Why they're still in place is an enigma in a mystery..

No surprise they finish at or, close to the bottom every competition. The time for a shakeup is long overdue...

While other boards might be laced with corruption or favouritism, the problem with Windwards is the "small island" way of thinking. Windward administrators always think small and reactive.

That was probably for the training squad. The final 14 has not been confirmed or if it was not made publicly.

Leewards always behind time too although this time they do have a camp and they have contracted some pay per play players like Samuels, Peters and Cruickshank. Not sure what the deal is with Beaton.

It was the fourteen man squad, the Dominican commies were spewing their venom with Sammy selection, saying he will only be available for two matches.
They kept saying Sammy has not payed for the Windwards in a number of years, so why should he be selected, for only two games.
Here is the team
Regional Super 50 Squads!

Ok noted. Why did they take so long to announce it publicly?

What would your final XI look like?

sunfish 2017-01-09 20:28:08

In reply to voiceofreason

Ok. I believe that: (And The numbers below do not reflect the batting order)

1) Sammy,

2) Johnno,

3) Smith,

4) Mayers,

5) Sebastian, (Don't deserve his place but Management unlikely to leave him out because of their timid past and the shadow of his father on WWI cricket)

6) Shillingford,

7) Johnson,

cool Williams,

9) Matthew,

are almost certain to be in the final 11.

This leaves 2 more places and since I'm short on batsmen I will add:

10) Theofile,

11) Fletcher.

If by some miracle Sebastian is left out Ambris should take his place..

Who is the Captain? If Sebo is the Captain then he will play but if he is not he should sit. They are a lot of similar type players on the team when it comes to medium paced bowlers who can hit the ball long: Sammy, Matthew Johnson and Mayers can all be explosive at the end. Sammy has had more success so he plays automatically.

Theophile
Smith
Charles
Fletcher
Hodge/sebo
Ambris Wk
Sammy
Mayers
Shilly
Matthew
Williams

sunfish 2017-01-10 11:06:09

This is not such a bad team on paper. I expect Keswick will take some wickets he has a determined but relaxed look..
