bat in TESTS, ODIs and T20I and you have to select only one to see in all three formats, who would you pay to see?
I will pay any money to see Virat Kohli before anyone!
Lets get ready to RUMBLEEEEEEE!

If you are paying to see a batsman....
In reply to WestDem
current batsman or all time?
In reply to googley
Don't matter...current or alltime...ah paying to see Kohli anytime before anyone else...
In reply to WestDem
I will pay to see Rohan in his prime! Period!
In reply to googley
Ah know that your answer you wanted to give...as for me I am not sure how effective he would have been in all three formats!
In reply to googley
Why don't you just admit you are an alien, Kohli? Why don't you? Why?
The better batsmen of this generation are more adept at multitasking since the game has moved on bigly and they have to think three formats instead of one.
For that reason I can't even consider Kanhai and Sobers in these conversations ... no hard feelings.
BTW Kohli for me too
Darren Bravo and Jermaine Blackwood.
Dr.W.G.Grace
In reply to Devin... stick to your day/night job ... you nah cut it in comedy!
In reply to WestDem
batsman: Uncle Carl, Lara
all time: Viv
Cricketer: Sobers in "do it all mode".
In reply to WestDem
When Kohli make runs in England then I will consider him!
In reply to natty_forever
Danza Hyatt and Donovan Pagon.
In reply to Devin... Well for Buds you might get a reaction with the mention of DP. For me you're
In reply to WestDem
Me too Kohli right now
Right now the man got confidence he can hit any ball anywhere in de park whether in Test, ODI's or T20's
In reply to WestDem
Pelon paying top dollar to watch Sir Carl make 35 or less.
In reply to Devin... a see you trying hard to prove me wrong, Mr. Comedian.
Kanhai
Kalli
Hooper
Lara
Tendy
------
the others will be free on tv
In reply to doosra
WestDem will soon accuse you of Berbicism....
In reply to googley
Actually there's some story that Hooper was born in Berbice and moved to GT very early...have u heard that
In reply to doosra
ah hear Lara was influenced by the Berbican Fredericks! And Tendy got Berbice connections too!!
ahahahahahahahah
In reply to doosra
You are actually correct, he was born in Berbice and after his dad became the Chairman of Guyoil, they moved to Duncan St....His cousin, Lynden Fraser played for Berbice and Guyana also...
Change the name of the brand then change the image of the brand's logo.
The most graceful one if you know he will make runs on that day is Hooper
Kohli for consistency to deliver
NONE!
I not paying money to watch test cricket neither ODIs for that matter
In reply to WestDem
Lynden Fraser also played u-19 for Guyana? He played 2nd division in Berbice up to 90s i think
i know a few of the Hooper cousins from Courtland/Fyrish area...
In reply to doosra
Sobers
Kanhai
Lara
Viv
hoops
In reply to Bigzinc
No one wants your cheap Guyanese dollars..
In reply to WestDem
If depends which country the test matches are played.
If it is England then I wouldn't waste my money behind your choice
In reply to WestDem
sir carl.
In reply to jcveletta
As pretty as Sir Carl was, I think he would not be able to adjust like Kohli in all three formats...
In reply to Ridge
I can't wait for his return to England to get rid of allyuh one and only excuse...
In reply to WestDem
Carl wasn't able to adjust in any format.
In reply to Devin
Hoops could have played in any era, in all formats. He was a brilliant fielder and quite a competent bowler as well.
In reply to Bigzinc
No doubt he could've played in any era, but he wouldn't have been successful in any of them.
Sobers!
I would want to see someone I have never seen...Frank Worrell first, Sobers and Kanhai in dem prime
In reply to WestDem
Viv Richards then Lara.
In reply to WestDem
I can't wait also to see Virat nibble at them out swingers
from Anderson.
In reply to Devin
No doubt he could've played in any era, but he wouldn't have been successful in any of them.
Murdered, Viratesque!
In reply to Khaga
The current batsmen I would pay to see bat are:
Kohli
Cook
Root
Amla
In any format.
In reply to TheTrail
Alastair Cook?
Lara.
Kohli is somewhat boring. He lacks that dash and is strokes have a certain mechanical inevitability about them. I cannot really see anything distinctive about him.
I like batsmen with a distinctive flair.
the Master Blaster, Vivian Richards.
as a kid, i use to cheer for Haynes and Richie Richardson to get out. (at that time Richardson had just broken into the team and was coming in at 3)
In reply to Baje
Kohli's wristy drives and flcks are arguably the most beautiful shots in the game today. He also has the ability to play three different drives to a delivery.
Conventional, wristy, and the one where he frees his arms and plays with a touch of that "Caribbean flair."
His style and technique are distinctive, because when you think about it, he doesn't resemble anyone in today's game, or anyone I can think of from the past.

Check the shots at 0:46 and 1:42.
In reply to Devin
Some of those forceful drives thru the offside are like penalty corners shots from Field hockey..they are as brutal as they are elegant..
In reply to doosra
u only like to watch indian players
[b]In reply to Bigzinc[/b
and make 25
In reply to Khaga
I like the analogy.
Does he play backfoot shots?
In reply to summergon
He played a few delectable back cuts vs Mitchell Johnson down under. He plays the cut shot well these days, and he's one of the best pullers/hookers of the short delivery.
Kanhai
In reply to tc1
Yes but it would have been an enjoyable and effortless 25. Hoops was batting artistry a la Rohan.
In reply to Bigzinc
stop right now, u cannot place Hooper & Rohan in the same sentence when batting is a topic. The more appropriate setting would be Hooper and Marlon.
In reply to tc1
Marlon steupps... Hoops makes marlon look ugly.
In reply to tc1
Marlon and Hooper in the same sentence?
Look Samuels plays a pretty shot now and then...other than that he's just a pretty pretender
In reply to doosra
is only yardies rate marlon the poser samuels
Samuels ungainly as rasshole. The only thing he does is hold a pose.
Sarwan over Marlon any day!
In reply to Devin
hence The Poser sobriquet
Bump
In reply to WestDem
In this Order
Kholi
Lara
Petersen
Jos Butler
Viv
Such is the class of Sobers, Viv and Lara
that they would have excelled.
I am sick of you young idiots
trying to think.
please don't, you a rasshole idiots.
Looks at the changes of times:
Helmets versus none.
Batsmen favoured rules.
Limits to short balls.
Wicket better prepared and covered.
Skunts like Devin should
appreciate what we have now.
But please don't compare these softies
to the past true greats.
Comparing present with pass is
good only for conversation sake.
It's an impossible task.
NOW THAT'S FACTS.
In reply to TanteMerle
When I post about Kohli, is y'all does have to bring up past players yuh know, not me.
Each era had it's own unique challenges. These days the pitches and bat sizes make it easier for batsmen, but technology(DRS) is more beneficial to bowlers than batsmen. What batsmen were able to do for 100 years(padding up), can't be done anymore.
There are more genuinely quick bowlers these days than ever before. There are three formats of cricket, so the truly great batsmen have to constantly adapt. You all continue to blame T20 cricket for the demise of West Indian batsmen. That mindset can only serve to elevate certain modern day players.
In reply to Devin
Have you ever heard of 'Philosophy'
In other words,
More games, but professional players.
These men get pain 24/7.
No need to do other work to feed families.
Train and play, that it.
Agents etc do their paper work.
Older players had to have their own
workout regime.
No physiotherapists at their disposal.
No analyst.
should i go on.
I love Veerat.
Not worship him like you,
but I don't hold it against you
That's your prerogative.
I just don't respect the comparing thing.
On bare stats, Don is the greatest.
If i had to pay to see one batsman today
I would be stuck between Veerat and ABD360.
