I saw a guy lay his glass flat on the table and rolled it, the wine did not spill because of the curvature of the glass and it only had about a sip. This is supposed to tell the quality of the wine by seeing a slight rise.
Are some people deluding themselves into believing this stuff?
What is your way of telling a good wine from the bad?

No wine connoisseur will attempt that nonsense.
RIEDEL usually has tastings for all its glassware, I've been to many, and have a selection of glasses
A german buddy who is a chef, always mark down the dates for Riedel Food and Wine tastings, so that I can take him.
The invited guest always leave with three glasses.
That gimmick is like someone having you to believe, White wine is for white meat and red wine is for red meat.
