If someone you knew, (a male) underwent a full gender reassignment, would you treat this person as a full blown woman or will it linger in the back of your head that he is/was, once a man?

Once a man, always a man?

Are you having buyer's remorse?
In reply to Priapus
No, not about me.

My wife has a gaggle of kathoey friends.
This was weird to me at first but I got used to it after a while.
At the end of the day they are just human beings with feelings etc.
In reply to black
As much as you would want to be accommodating to the sensitivities of the "woman", I believe that it is natural for the thought of "she" once being a man to linger at the back of your mind.
In reply to Priapus
True, I would try to be accommodating but the thought will linger in my head.

Have had gay friends on the liming circuit, some of the most thougtful, caring and uplifting people, had a surprise party for wifey one time and some of the servers/managers were gay and they all put up and got her a real class perfume and accessories etc and told me ,"we know wifey have tings but we really love and appreciate you guys and wanted to show our appreciation".
As long as they don't look like Caitlyn lol,or act like some gully dragster I would still give them the time of day..I would actually be curious about the state of mind that led them to make such a move and try to assess whether or not said mindset can allow them to remain 'normal' otherwise..
No homophobe or peer pressure can make me not see the human in such a person or any person..
A fella even tried to get me to invest in a gay event and properly showed how profitable it would be because of the niche clientele and their disposable incomes etc ,but I respectfully declined as I did not want to be an official sponsor ,associate or proponent of the lifestyle..
But yeah I ain fraid to hail out Paul(a) in de dance,no dance doh!

You sound like the white person with black friends.
It's nothing sexual, I'm asking if you can block the thought that the male ever existed?
In reply to black
No I would still see Paul..and I would be curious about what's going on in Paul's head, and wonder if he went all the way to the butcher's,or if he may outgrow it at some point..but Paul would be Paul..no matter how confused or conflicted.

@black: "I'm asking if you can block the thought that the male ever existed?"
Who cares would be my response.
Small minded focus would have us look at a person and judge them on "gender identity" or "sexual identity".... at the end of the day it's the deeds and character of that individual that ultimately decides my relationship with the individual. We are all flawed, some (like that skunt pelon) moreso than others.... but I don't give a rats ass what you do with your gender identity or sexuality.... simply because I can't be here to judge. We need space to be WHO we are. When we define who we are, we must stay true to ourselves.... that's it.
A man sure of his disposition(identity) is not bothered by these things black.
In reply to pelon
Yeah man,but youknow blackie like to inside-out a topic..
In reply to pelon
Yeah, you are right but humans are very complex. You could be dealing with a racist, sexist or homophobe, everyday and don't know it.
In reply to black
The point being is that you SHOULD presupposed this to be so. You would have to be woefully naive to think otherwise.
Side note: Society is an amalgam of groups, our very identity is centered around the collective. Only in our conscience is where the individual resides.
In reply to pelon
Very true.
