Barbados Under-15 all-rounder Jacob Bethell created history twice during the quarter-finals.The neat left-hander struck his fourth century of the season and became the first player to achieve that feat. During his knock of 119, he passed 500 runs for the second straight year after amassing 587 runs last season. Currently Bethell's aggregate of 593 puts him just behind the all -time record of 597 made by Leniko Boucher of Passage Juniors in 2011 when he scored three centuries.

He will go thru the qualifying process
1. Make Bim's U-17 team
2. Make Bim's U-19
3. Make Bim's senior team
We know he can bat, it surrounding him with the best coaches in the Island, to assist him with his development.

He is still in High school played for Barbados U-19 last year, he is one of SUdden's boys from Cawmere.
BTW, I would be disown if I say anything negative about him, his grand parent and great grand from his mother side , I grew up with.

Bro, if you can support a little fifty by Carty, and not sharing with this MB Carty scores, leading up to his selection, then we are all hoping he will be better than his U-19 WC performance.Next you will be telling us how he look with a score of 20

Leniko is caught up in Cawmere and Foundation school politics, which the BCA created, so it is up to him to score runs and make the Pride team.
He is not on my Radar, havent scored consistently locally.
BTW, Have you notice Jacob two years of centuries, and he is only 12 years and a number of days, and already made Barbados U-15 team?

got it..he also has he natural advantage of being a Bajan ...we are only using Bajans for now. Once we have lost enough games we will switch to another island.

Young Jacob is a wonderfully dedicated and talented boy. There is another young man who opens the batting with him, with over 550 runs in this tournament and equally prolific since his days as part of the Championship winning U11 Primary School team in West Terrance. If my memory serves me correct he was the primary school MVP that year.

That player is Jaden Leacock who is a tall, elegant stroke player along very technically correct lines. He is also a very good pacer, who when is in the mood is possibly the quickest bowler of his age on the island.

If the purpose of this blog is to highlight talent, please equally highlight both Jacob and Jaden.

The thread is to update Narper on young Bethell, he first learned about him from a report by BCL, who brought him to T&T to playin his tournament.
He has asked to update him on the youngster, which I will continue to do.
